The Catherwood mss., 1880-1902, consists of the letters of writer Mary (Hartwell) Catherwood (Mrs. James Steele Catherwood), 1847-1902, to Mary Elizabeth (Riley) Payne (Mrs. Frank C. Payne), 1864-1936, sister of James Whitcomb Riley.

The Cauger, Richard E. mss., ca. 1923-1997, consists of the research notes and note cards, slides, documents, articles, books, correspondence and the long draft typescript manuscript (missing pages 495-518) of a planned biography of Mary Donovan Hapgood written by Cauger. Also included are copies of Mary Hapgood materials held by the Lilly Library.

The Chapman Mss., 1913-1922 and 1933, consists of the correspondence with and relating to Indian author Charles Edmonds Walk, 1875-, from the office file of president of the International Press Bureau, Chicago, Illinois William Gerard Chapman, 1877-1945.

The Christ mss. 1967-2007, consists primarily of notes and drafts of translations by Professor Emeritus of English Ronald Christ. In addition, it contains collected papers from fellow authors and translators Helen Lane and Charles Greenleaf Bell.

The Ciardi mss., 1949-1953, consists of correspondence from the files of editor John Ciardi, 1916-1986, relating to William Carlos Williams and to his daughter-in-law, Virginia Carnes Williams.

The Cinti-Damoreau mss., 1827-1856, consists of letters and a contract of singer and composer Mme. Laure (Cinthie Montalant)Cinti-Damoreau, 1801-1863, who resided much of her life in Paris, France.

The Cinti-Damoreau mss. II, 1844, consists of an autograph letter signed by Mme. Laure (Cinthie Montalant) Cinti-Damoreau, addressed to "O. Moran Esq."

The Cladel mss., 1869-1969, consists of the literary papers and correspondence of French writer Judith Jeanne Cladel, 1873-1958.
