The University of Islamabad project focused on establishing a residential postgraduate university with an emphasis on advanced teaching and research in science and technology in Islamabad, Pakistan. This project was funded by the Ford Foundation and administered by the Office of the Dean of Research and Advanced Studies. The project began in 1966 and ended in the 1970s, upon completion of the construction of a new campus, the end of a faculty recruitment campaign, and the development of Master's and Doctorate programs in the sciences. The collection contains files related to the creation and development of the university, blueprints for new buildings, and a series of materials from similar programs used as reference for this and other international programs administered by Indiana University.

Indiana University's University of Karachi Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center Project records, 1955-1967

The Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) project, located at the University of Karachi in Karachi, Pakistan, was administered by the Office of Research and Advanced Studies, with funding from the International Cooperation Administration (ICA). The purpose of this project was to educate and train teachers in Pakistan in the fields of medical science through the development of a postgraduate Master of Science degree program, with the intent that they serve as faculty members at medical colleges throughout Pakistan. The contract lasted from 1957 to 1966, with final evaluations and reports completed in 1967. This collection contains preliminary fieldwork, project correspondence, budget information, contracts, building blueprints, and project reports.

Kabul University Administration Program records, 1964-1972, bulk 1967-1972

The Kabul University Administration Program focused on improving the administrative structure, leadership, and business practices of Kabul University in Kabul, Afghanistan. Additional goals included revamping student services and activities offices, refining account management practices, improving conditions for female students, and further developing the university library's collections. The project was administered by the Office of Research and Advanced Studies and funded through a grant from USAID from 1966-1972.
