Norman Gary Lane was a professor of Geology and Paleontology at IU from 1973-1994. The Lane collection consists of articles and research notes relating to his work in the geological field spanning the period from 1963 to 1989.

Harold Pepinsky was Professor of Criminal Justice and Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Indiana University from 1976-2008. His writings focus on how the criminal justice system can be the cause or cure for crime and research interests include peacemaking criminology, restorative justice, violence against children, and ritual abuse. The collection consists of materials relating to his position at IU and professional interests, including correspondence, case files, publications, teaching files, awards and collected materials.

Richard Bauman taught in the Indiana University Department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology from 1986 until his retirement in 2008. The Bauman papers consist of his teaching materials, awards, publications, conference contributions, research projects, fieldwork materials, correspondence, and student recommendations.

Rudy Pozzatti was on the faculty at Indiana University from 1956-1991 and upon his retirement, received the title of Distinguished Professor Emeritus. In 1979, he helped found the Echo Press, a printmaking workship in Bloomington. Prof. Pozzatti was recognized as one of the prominent printmakers in the country and has works exhibited throughout the world. This collection consists of Prof. Pozzatti's biographical information, show and exhibition materials, as well as personal correspondence spanning over 50 years. Also included are photographs of his works, plates and woodblocks as well as some original posters. There are no files related to his teaching.

A specialist in American Literature, Terry J. Martin taught in the Indiana University English Department from 1954 until his retirement in 1992. The Martin papers consist of his published works, unpublished drafts, research notes, class notes, and correspondence. Prominent in the collection are research files on his Parables of Possibility.

H. Scott Gordon was a Canadian-American economist who served as an economics professor at Indiana University from 1966-1988 and as an associate professor in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science from 1983-1988. The collection consists primarily of correspondence with students, fellow economists, and publishers, as well as some subject files related to lectures he gave and classes that he taught.

John B. Patton was a member of the faculty of the Geology Department at Indiana University from 1947-1986. In 1959 he became State Geologist, director of the Indiana Geological Survey, and chairman of the IU geology department. He served as department chair for 12 years and as State Geologist and director of the Geological Survey until his retirement in 1986. The John B. Patton papers span the period from 1945 to 1988 and consist primarily files related to his speeches, lectures and presentations, manuscripts, published works, as well as records Patton created while serving on various committees both within and outside of Indiana University.

Edward H. Buehrig, University Professor Emeritus of Political Science, taught at Indiana University, Bloomington, for 47 years. During this tenure, Buehrig took several leaves of absences to serve with the United Nations, teach at the American School in Beirut, and author numerous books concerning international politics. The collection is comprised of correspondence with Buehrig's colleagues and students, records pertaining to his published works, documents related to the League of Nations, and his course materials.

James King's career as an operatic singer spanned a period of over three decades beginning in the 1960s and continuing until 2000. King began his career as a baritone, but later retrained to become a tenor. Performing throughout Europe and the United States, he was renowned for specializing in the operas of Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss. In 1984 he joined the faculty of Indiana University as a professor of voice in the School of Music, where he remained until 2002. Collection contains clippings, programs, posters, music, correspondence, recordings, photographs, and notebooks all relating primarily to his professional career as an opera singer.

York Willbern began his career at Indiana University in 1957 when he was named Professor of Government and director of the Bureau of Government Research. He was one of the founders of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) at Indiana University, and was an accomplished scholar and author of many books and articles on the subjects of cities, public policy-making, urban planning and education for governmental administrative careers. This collection includes correspondence, writings, teaching files, project files, and records on a variety of subjects related to York Willbern's career and interests, including papers related to his book The Withering Away of the City, files on the American Political Science Association, and university committees such as the Urban Studies Committee.

Alan Stanley Horowitz was curator of paleontology and part time professor of geology at Indiana University from 1966-1996. His collection consists of materials relating to his research interests and position at IU, including research relating to his work in the geological and paleontological fields and publications and records relating to professional organizations with which he was involved.

Karl F. Schuessler graduated at Indiana University in 1947 with a Ph.D. in sociology. Soon after his graduation, he joined the faculty at Indiana University, where he remained until his retirement in 1985. This collection contains Schuessler's published articles, manuscripts, correspondence, and subject files.

Arthur Reed Hogue was an Indiana University professor of history, 1950-1974. His papers consists of correspondence, research materials, publications, committee files, speeches, and course materials. Prominent in the collection are Hogue's files related to a book he edited entitled Charles Sumner, an Essay by Carl Schurz as well as Hogue's Origins of the Common Law.

Joseph C. Muhler was an assistant professor of chemistry at Indiana University from 1951 to 1972, and research professor of dental science and director of the School of Dentistry's Dental Research Institute from 1972 until his retirement in 1984. Muhler was the leader of the team that developed the original formula for Crest toothpaste in the 1950s, and his interests included that of preventative dentistry and its practices. The collection consists primarily of papers related to Dr. Muhler's research interests and his activities at IU, including original research, publications, correspondence, teaching files, student theses and materials relating to professional organizations. Records related to his Crest research are included in the collection.

Arthur M. Weimer served in various capacities at Indiana University, beginning with his initial hiring as professor in the School of Business in 1937. He ascended quickly, serving as Dean of the Indiana University School of Business from 1939-1963, a seminal period in the school's fundamental development into a national leader and academic model for business education. Weimer was active in numerous professional business organizations and assumed a number of federal consultant positions with the U.S. Government. The collection consists of materials related to Weimer's academic and professional life, including correspondence, Indiana University course materials, writings, various awards and items of recognition, as well as items related to his involvement in professional organizations and federal committees.

Richard Reuss was an Indiana University alumnus, a professor of folklore, and a distinguished scholar of folksong revival. Collection includes photographs, books, artwork, clippings, song books and sheets, correspondence, interview transcripts, notes, teaching materials, and publications.

In 1953, Warren Everett Roberts became the first person to earn a PhD in Folklore in the United States. He taught at Indiana University from 1949-1994 and was one of the founders of the study of American "folklife" and material culture. The collection represents Roberts' research of vernacular architecture and regional survey of material culture and craftsmanship, particularly in southern Indiana. Collection consists of research files, teaching files, photographs, photographic negatives and slides, publications, and correspondence.

Before becoming president of Indiana University, Herman B Wells served as an assistant cashier at the National Bank of Lebanon before going on to work for the Indiana Bankers Association, the Indiana Commission for Financial Institutions, and the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions. He was named dean of the Indiana University School of Business administration in 1935 by IU President William Lowe Bryan. In 1937 he was named acting president of the university and president the following year, a position he held until 1962. Upon his retirement, IU created the position of University Chancellor, which Dr. Wells held until his death in 2000. This collection consists of Wells' personal papers and includes papers pertaining to his family and personal finances, his activities in the banking profession, his work in Germany for the United States government after World War II, and to his research and teaching and professional activities as a member of the faculty of Indiana University.
