The Lockridge mss., 1941-1947, consists of the writings of author Ross Franklin Lockridge, Jr., 1914-1948, including the manuscripts of The Dream of the Flesh of Iron and Raintree County.

The Lockridge mss. II, 1941-1975, consists primarily of correspondence from author Ross Franklin Lockridge, Jr., 1914-1948, to various individuals. The Lilly Library acquired these letters to complement the manuscript files for Lockridge's book, Raintree County. Many of the letters discuss the success of Raintree County as well as Lockridge's untimely death.

Lockridge mss. III, circa 1837-2000, consists of the correspondence, unpublished manuscripts, photos, papers, and audio tapes pertaining to the life and work of author Ross Lockridge, Jr., 1914-1948, and the Lockridge family.

The Macy mss., 1905-1935, consists of the correspondence of author Albert William Macy, 1853-1940, principally with David Laurance Chambers, 1879-1963, vice-president of The Bobbs-Merrill Company, publishers, Indianapolis, Indiana.

The McCoy mss., 1909-1956 (principally 1949-1956), consist largely of the correspondence of Samuel Duff McCoy, 1882-1964, journalist and author, with David Laurence Chambers, president of Bobbs-Merrill Company, publishers of Indianapolis, Indiana.

The McCutcheon / Dodd, Mead mss., 1903-1944, consist of contracts and correspondence between author George Barr McCutcheon, 1866-1928, and his publisher Dodd, Mead & Company.

The McCutcheon mss., 1894-1921, are writings of George Barr McCutcheon, 1866-1928.

The Mellett mss., 1920-1973, are the correspondence and writings of John Calvin Mellett, 1888-1976, author and journalist.

Consists of the papers of Mrs. Virginia (Scott) Miner (Mrs. Dewey Hobson Miner), 1901-1982, poet.

The Mitchell, M.B. mss. are letters, 1939-1949, relating to James Whitcomb Riley and his family, written by Mrs. Minnie Bell (Alexander) Mitchell, author and friend of James Whitcomb Riley.

The Payne, L. mss., 1871-1972, are the papers of Lesley Payne, 1894?-1976, musician, and niece of James Whitcomb Riley.

The Phifer mss., 1978-1982, consist of the letters of Virginia (Scott) Miner, 1901-1982, poet and teacher, to Kenneth Wood Phifer, Unitarian-Universalist minister at Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The Phillips, M.J. mss., 1960-1990, consist of the correspondence and papers of Michael Joseph Phillips, 1937- , poet.

The Piercy, J.W. mss., 1889-1940, consist of letters and papers of Joseph William Piercy, 1866-1943, writer and professor of journalism, and his family.

The Piercy mss., 1911-1942 (mainly 1925-1929), are letters from English and American authors to Josephine Ketcham Piercy, 1895- , teacher of English at the University of Illinois and Indiana University.

The Pyle mss., 1929-1945, consists primarliy of the correspondence and writings of journalist Ernest Taylor Pyle, 1900-1945.

The Pyle mss. II, 1921-1953, consist primarily of letters from journalist Ernest Taylor Pyle, 1900-1945, to his parents and aunt,

The Pyle mss. III, 1932-1945, consists primarily of scrapbooks, newspaper and wire copies of columns, and photographs of, or related to, journalist Ernest Taylor Pyle, 1900-1945.

The Pyle mss. IV, 1940, consist of carbon copies of dispatches by journalist Ernie Pyle, 1900-1945, sent to newspaper publisher Scripps Howard.

The Pyle mss. V, 1994, consist mostly of annotated excerpts from interviews by James Tobin with relatives and acquaintances of journalist Ernie Pyle, 1900-1945.
