The Near Eastern mss., 700-1915, consist of a collection of individually acquired manuscripts pertaining to the region formerly known as the Near East, now referred to as the Middle East.

The Miscellaneous mss., 2100 BCE-1970, consist of individual items acquired individually either as a gift or purchased from a variety of sources.

The Adomeit mss., 2000 BCE - 1995 CE, consists of miniature manuscripts collected by Ruth Elizabeth Adomeit, 1910-1996.

The Hoosier State Press Association mss., 1933-1984, consist of background materials for the HSPA, as well as drafts of legislation by HSPA general counsel Richard Cardwell and issues of public debate.

The Ernst mss., 1948-1950, consist primarily of correspondence between lawyer Morris Leopold Ernst, 1888-1976, and Judge William Curtis Bok, 1897-1962, concerning censorship, definitions of obscenity and pornography, and Bok's rendered opinion in the 1949 Commonwealth (PA) v. Gordon, et al. case involving a charge of obscenity and a matter of literary censorship.

The Willis mss., 1942-1945, consist of letters and documents of Hugh Evander Willis, 1875-1967, professor of law at Indiana University, dealing with Professor Willis' plan for achieving lasting peace through a federation of the world and with his proposals for the constitution of the United Nations.

Consists primarily of the papers of the British publishing firm of Calder & Boyars Ltd. Also included are the papers of its predecessor John Calder (Publishers) and the personal papers of John Calder, 1927- . A few personal papers of Marion Boyars, 1928-1999, are also present.

The Lockhart mss., 1927-1935, consists of the papers of economist Oliver Cary Lockhart, 1879-1975.

The Fuchs mss., 1920-1979, consist of the correspondence, professional and teaching files, and writings of Ralph Follen Fuchs, 1899-1985, Indiana University Professor Emeritus of Law.

The Sulzer mss., 1917-1932, but principally 1927 and 1928, are papers of William Sulzer, 1863-1941, lawyer, member of the New York state legislature, U.S. congressman, and governor of New York.

The O'Connor mss., 1911-1941, consist of the legal and political papers of New York lawyer John Joseph O'Connor, 1885-1960.

The Maugham mss., 1904-1973, consist of the contracts and correspondence about those contracts for works by William Somerset Maugham, 1874-1965, English novelist and playwright.

Consists of the papers of Paul Vories McNutt, 1891-1955, lawyer, governor of Indiana and federal official.

The McNutt, J.C. mss., 1899-1934, are three financial ledgers relating to the work of John Crittenden McNutt, 1863-1950.

The Ludlow mss., 1898-1948, consists of the papers of Louis Leon Ludlow, 1873-1950, journalist and congressman from Indiana.

The Oakleaf mss. II, 1895-1909, consist chiefly of requests for railway passes by Joseph Benjamin Oakleaf, 1858-1930, lawyer of Moline, Illinois, to officials of the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway Co.: Marcus Lafayette Bell, Benjamin Stickney Cable, Robert Mather and William Thomasson Rankin.

The McClure mss. VI, 1893-1952, consists of the papers of editor S. S. (Samuel Sidney) McClure, 1857-1949, concerned chiefly with operations of McClure's Magazine, its advertising and circulation rates, and several legal cases in relation to the magazine.

The Bobbs-Merrill mss., 1885-1983, consists of the records of book publisher Bobbs-Merrill Company, Inc., located in Indianapolis, IN.

The Treanor mss., 1878-1941, consist of letters and papers of Walter Emanuel Treanor, 1883-1941, Indiana University alumnus and judge.

The Fetter mss., 1875-1988, consists of letters and papers of Frank Albert Fetter, 1863-1949, economist.
