Collections

The Hodge mss., circa 18th-19th century, consists of codices and related materials collected by linguistic scholar Carleton Taylor Hodge, 1917-1998.

The Holland mss., 1781-1953, consists of correspondence and papers of three generations of Holland family physicians from Bloomington, Indiana: Philip Calphy Holland, 1840-1929, his son, George Frank Holland, 1871-1936, and his son, Philip Todd Holland, 1905-1973.

The collection consists of a group of 28 hornbooks. Also included are two auction catalogs for sales where some of the hornbooks were sold and a description of a hornbook in brass from dealer Patrick King's list no. 11, 1986.

The Houstoun mss., 1774-1799, consist of correspondence of Alexander Houstoun, ?-1784, physican, and correspondence of members of his family.

The Hughes, R. mss., 1777-1981, consist of the correspondence and writings of British novelist, playwright, and poet Richard Arthur Warren Hughes, 1900-1976.

The India mss., 1757-1947, consist of letters, writings, business, and other documents relating to India, accumlated from various sources by Glenn Horowitz.

The Indiana History mss., 1725-1973, consists of individual items related to the history of the state of Indiana, acquired separately either as a gift, purchase, transfer, or removal from a variety of sources.

The Indiana Sesquicentennial mss., 1786-1967, consists of photocopies or microfilm copies of manuscripts collected throughout Indiana relating to the state's 150 years of historical development.

The Ireland mss., 1777-1835, consists of the papers of forger William Henry Ireland, 1777-1835.
