The Miscellaneous mss., 2100 BCE-1970, consist of individual items acquired individually either as a gift or purchased from a variety of sources.

The Hohenberger mss., 1917-1960, consist primarily of photographs by Frank Michael Hohenberger, 1876-1963, Brown County photographer and newspaperman.

The Camp mss. II, 1900-1925 consists of those transcripts prepared by Kenneth Hammer, Professor of Economics at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, from the Walter Camp Field Notes at the Denver Public Library and at the Brigham Young University, for use in his book, Custer in '76, published by the Brigham Young University Press in 1976. The Roberts mss., 1885-1918, consist of correspondence and papers of and relating to the family of Andrew Jackson Roberts, 1827-1891, farmer.

The Rudd mss., 1879-1907, consist of letters to Smith Rudd of Bronson, Michigan, from John Augustus Sutter, 1803-1880, pioneer and adventurer, and from descendants of David Crockett, 1786-1836, frontiersman and congressman.

The R.B. Harrison mss., 1877-1899, consists of correspondence, papers, and copybooks of Russell Benjamin Harrison, 1854-1936, businessman and lawyer.

The Custer mss., 1876-1933, consists of a copy of the Proceedings of the Court of Inquiry, January 13, 1879, in the case of Major Marcus A. Reno concerning his conduct at the Battle of the Little Big Horn River, 1876.

The Greene mss., 1876-1914, consists primarily of letters written in 1876 by Francis Vinton Greene, 1850-1921, general, historian, and engineer, to his mother, Martha Barrett (Dana) Greene, 1809-1883.

The Ellison Correspondence mss. consist of correspondence of Robert Spurrier Ellison, 1875-1945, relating to his collection of Western Americana.

The Maguire mss., 1875-1878, consists of the papers of Horatio Nelson Maguire, 1837-1903, printer, editor, and judge.

The Camp mss., 1873-1918 consists of the field notes of Walter Mason Camp, 1867-1925, engineer, dealing with the Indians and Indian Wars.

The Jones, J. mss., 1868-1887, consists of the letters of John E. Jones, of Volcano, California, to his sister, Mary Jones, 1837-1903, of Newborough, England.

The Unthank mss., 1867-1924, consists of copies of papers of Oliver N. Unthank, 1842-1928, a telegraph operator at Fort Laramie, Wyoming.

The Bozeman Trail mss., 1867-1873, consists of the letters and documents of Fort Philip Kearney General John Eugene Smith, 1816-1897.

The Mills mss., 1866-1869, are papers of Benjamin B. Mills, ?-1871, relating in the main to Bridger's ferry.

The Lott mss., 1863-1890, consists of the papers of rancher Mortimer H. Lott, 1827-1920.

The Weeks mss., 1862-1879, consists of the correspondence and papers of soldier William C. Weeks, 1839-1893, and his brother, army officer Harrison Samuel Weeks, 1844-1892.

The Washington Territory Infantry mss., 1861-1866, consists of positive photostats of muster rolls, the originals of which are in the files of the U.S. War Department.

The Baylor mss., 1860-1862, consists of photostats of correspondence of John Roy Baylor, 1821-1897.

The Ellison mss. II, 1857-1940, consist of copies of articles, talks, extracts, etc. that were duplicates in the Ellison collection at the Harold B. Lee Library of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
