The Orr mss., 1809-1871, are the papers of the Orr family who emigrated from County Tyrone, Ireland, to Monroe County, West Virginia in 1821.

The Graham, John mss., 1831-1878, consists of letters and papers of the Graham and Howe families of Monroe County, Indiana.

The Neely mss., 1839-1924, consist primarily of letters written to Sarah Ann (Prosser) Neely, 1846-1896, during the Civil War.

The Day, S. mss., 1857-1895, consists primarily of a diary and related papers of Civil War soldier Samuel Day.

The Harding, J. L. mss., 1861-1864, consists of the Civil War letters of John Lucas Harding, 1841-1865, who served in the Indiana Infantry, Seventh Regiment, Company I.

The Clark, W.A. mss., 1862-1918, consists primarily of letters from Hoosier soldier William Allen Clark, 1844- , to his parents in Rossville, Indiana, during his service in Company K of the 72nd Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment.

The Hair mss., 1862-1865, consist of the diaries of William Hair, 1836-1920, musician in Company B of the 68th Indiana infantry regiment.

Audio recordings of taped radio show episodes, primarily from the series The Afro-American in Indiana, but also including the additional programs Reflections in Black and Black Heritage, as well as a radio special and recordings from a NAACP convention. The radio shows, hosted by Fr. Boniface Hardin, featured multiple high-profile guests. The episode topics includes sports, music, education, historiography, slavery, the American Civil War, Reconstruction, segregation, the Indiana Constitution, the United States Constitution, church, religion, the NAACP, WWI, WWII, medicine, black businesses, the Institute of Afro American Studies, prison, labor history, and more.
