These papers collected by Alan Solomont focus on the development of presidential advocacy for national service during the Clinton, Bush and Obama administrations, when he was a board member and later Board Chair for the Corporation for National and Community Service. Items are halved between select correspondence, drafts, and event ephemera created or received by Solomont, and a collection of materials by other entities advocating and explaining national service, including presidential speeches and ephemera, and mainstream and philanthropic periodicals and publications in both complete and clipped form.

America's Promise - The Alliance for Youth was founded at the Presidents' Summit for America's Future in 1997. The Five Promises to children are at the core of America's Promise and are as follows: Caring Adults; Safe Places; a Healthy Start; Marketable Skills; and Opportunities to Serve.

Barbara Gomez's Learn and Serve America Collection contains publications about the Learn and Serve America and service learning from various institutions.

The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS, now operating under the name AmeriCorps) is a federal agency that administers national service programs including AmeriCorps, AmeriCorps*VISTA, NCCC, and Senior Corps. The materials in this collection are promotional artifacts, including posters and pamphlets, with known dates ranging from 1993 through 2015. This collection is expected to receive more accruals in future.

The Corps Network records contain artifacts and materials collected by the Corps Network. There is a particular focus on records documenting the National Association of Civilian Conservation Corps Alumni's efforts in the 2000s to raise awareness of and commemmorate the Civilian Conservation Corps through statues, museums and publications. There are copies of general histories of the CCC and articles from members of the public referring to the CCC as inspiration for further service corps efforts, as provided to Sally Prouty of the Corps Network. In addition, there are publications created by and in collaboration with the Corps Network about both modern national service efforts and the CCC.

David Reingold is the current Justin S. Morrill Dean of Liberal Arts and Professor of Sociology at Purdue University. This collection primarily focuses on his time working with the Corporation for National and Community Service as Director of Research and Policy Development where he was responsible for managing the agencies research and evaluation portfolio, providing consultation to the CEO on policy development, and working with the White House on the President's USA Freedom Corps initiative. This collection includes paper records as well as digital records.

The Frank Slobig Papers include materials from Slobig's career in nonprofit organizations, including the Roosevelt Centennial Youth Project and Youth Service America. Slobig served Chicago as a priest and community leader, and co-founded YSA in 1986. This collection focuses on the intersection of community service, youth employment, and politics.

Harris Wofford was a Democratic senator from Pennsylvania, the former CEO of the Corporation of National and Community Service (CNCS, now AmeriCorps), a civil rights advocate, university president, lawyer, and writer. This collection focuses on his work supporting national service, including his time as the CEO of CNCS.
