The "Indiana Cooler" storage ring at the Indiana University Cyclotron Facility (IUCF) was a storage ring for light ions, consisting of a circular magnet lattice of about 100 meters in circumference. The storage ring was built to facilitate the novel technology of electron cooling, which made possible the use of an internal target and enabled unprecedented experiments in nuclear research. The collection includes research notes, log books, administrative documents, correspondence, research proposals, photographs, and illustrations related to the operations of the Cooler storage ring and the nuclear research output that was produced with the use of the Cooler.

Music manuscripts composed and arranged by Phil Moore including scores and parts for full orchestra, small ensembles, vocalist with keyboard accompaniment, lead sheets, and initial sketches. Moore composed in a wide range of genres, but works in various jazz styles popular during the early 1940s through the 1960s are particularly well represented. His musical manuscripts include arrangements for night club acts, musicals, and studio recordings; soundtrack material for films, television productions, cartoons, and commercials; and various forms of Western art music. When known, the name of the artist a specific arrangement was made for has been provided.

Consists of the papers of Congressman Lee Hamilton relating to his 34 years of service in the United States House of Representatives as Representative of the Ninth Congressional District of Indiana, including extensive files on Indiana projects and from his chairmanship of the Subcommittee on Europe and the Middle East of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

The collection of music industry professional Logan H. Westbrooks contains professional and personal papers, photographs, sound recordings, video recordings, digital files, posters, books, memorabilia, artifacts and other material documenting his life and work from the 1930s through the 2010s. Professional papers pertain to his employment at Capitol Records, Mercury Records, CBS Records, CBS International, Soul Train Records, Source Records, and his management firm Ascent Music Inc. Personal papers pertain to his upbringing in Memphis, TN, the Church of God in Christ, lectures at California State University and Indiana University, philanthropic activities, and civic service. Topics include African American music industry executives; record labels; recording industry in United States, Africa, and Jamaica; African American musicians; black churches; rhythm and blues, soul, jazz, and funk music; radio and African American disc jockeys.

Materials collected from the composition studio of Leonard Bernstein, a conductor, composer, and musician active during the mid-20th century. The collection includes recordings, books, scores, awards, artwork, clothing, furniture, and other artifacts pertaining to his professional and personal life.

This series contains human resource files and miscellaneous files generated by the BFHFI's staff members and volunteers that are not clearly related to one of the other series (e.g., reports on BFHFI supported conference trips, BFHFI-related grant applications, personal files, etc.).

The Belva Davis and William Moore Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame Archives collection contains audiovisual recordings of BFHFI events hosted between 1978 and 1993 as well as text-based documents generated during the production of the 2nd and 18th annual BFHFI Black History Month Celebration in 1975 and 1991.

The Diamant, Alfred mss., 1917-2012, consists of the personal correspondence, emails, school records, military papers, birth and marriage certificates, and family trees of Alfred Diamant. It also includes various drafts and pre-publication copies of his and his wife's co-authored memoir Worlds Apart, Worlds United: A European-American Story.

Interviews with key figures in southern hip hop music and related secondary source materials including articles, press clippings, press releases and photographs.

Series G, "Music Industry Interviews," consists of transcripts and audiocassettes of interviews primarily conducted by Portia K. Maultsby between 1981-1986 as part of her research on the Black music industry. The remainder of the series in this collection are still in the process of being accessioned and are unavailable for general research and public use.

The collection includes Burnim's dissertation research on African American religious music conducted primarily in Indiana between 1976-1979 with an emphasis on gospel music performance and practice; and post-dissertation research on African and African American religious music conducted between 1980-1996 in the U.S., Cuba, Liberia, and Malawi. Also included is documentation of the 1984 Smithsonian American Folklife Festival and gospel sheet music. The collection was primarily recorded on analog audio formats and includes audiocassettes, open reel tapes, videocassettes, open reel video, slides, sheet music, song texts, and additional documentation.

This collection documents the careers of the Calloway family including brothers Reggie, Vincent, and Gregory and their mother Gloria Calloway Larson, who variously formed and/or managed the groups Sunchild, Midnight Star, Calloway and Sharp. Included are personal papers, correspondence, business and financial records, tour itineraries, publicity materials, press clippings, programs, photographs, and time-based media in both published and unpublished audio and video formats.
