The Eastman mss. V, 1880-2009, consist of the photographs, correspondence, personal papers, writings, and legal documents of Max Eastman, 1883-1969; and Yvette Szekely Eastman, 1912-2014.

Harris Wofford was a Democratic senator from Pennsylvania, the former CEO of the Corporation of National and Community Service (CNCS, now AmeriCorps), a civil rights advocate, university president, lawyer, and writer. This collection focuses on his work supporting national service, including his time as the CEO of CNCS.

The Costa, Margaret Jull mss., 1980–2016, consists of the papers of one of the most important literary translators of her time, Margaret Jull Costa, 1949-.

Kenneth L. Gladish, born in 1952, was an executive director of Indiana Humanities Council from 1984 to 1991 and the president of the Central Indiana Community Foundation (including the Indianapolis Foundation) from 1993 to 2000. He contributed to several Indiana-based foundations and organizations such as Hanover College, the Rotary Foundation and IUPUI Board of Advisors and the Indiana Jewish Community Relations Council. This collection includes records of his work until he became a chief executive officer of the YMCA of the USA in 2000.

The University School was a K-12 laboratory school that was founded in 1938 by Indiana University and the School City of Bloomington (later Monroe County Community School Corporation). This collection contains volumes of the Jordannus, a yearbook produced by the middle and high schools, dating from 1939-1979.

Harvey A. Bordner was an educator and public school administrator in the Philippines, 1902-1936. Bordner received his bachelor's in chemistry at Indiana University in 1896, served as a laboratory assistant in the department from 1894-1900, and instructor from 1900-1901. Collection consists of Bordner's articles and essays about education in the Philippines; books and pamphlets about the Philippines in general and about its educational system; school yearbooks and some student work; about 400 black and white photographs of the Philippines; Bordner's correspondence to relatives in the United States; certificates of award or appointment give to Bordner; and Indiana University Alumni Office files containing biographical information and some correspondence from Bordner.

The Ngũgĩ mss. (ca. 1950s-2014) consist of the papers of Kenyan author, playwright, essayist, educator, and activist Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o.

Lockridge mss. III, circa 1837-2000, consists of the correspondence, unpublished manuscripts, photos, papers, and audio tapes pertaining to the life and work of author Ross Lockridge, Jr., 1914-1948, and the Lockridge family.

The Baker Street Irregulars mss., 1923-2007, consists of correspondence, business files, and publications of the Baker Street Irregulars, a Sherlock Holmes literary society founded in 1934.

The Deam Wilderness mss., 1963-1988, consists of papers collected by Claude Ferguson, Supervisor of the Hoosier National Forest, during the founding and designation process of the Charles C. Deam Wilderness as Indiana's only Federal Wilderness area.

The Fainlight mss., 1935-1982 [bulk circa. 1950-1982], consist of the papers of poet, Harry Fainlight, 1935-1982. The collection also includes correspondence of his sister, Ruth Fainlight, regarding Harry Fainlight written during and after his lifetime, as well as materials about him that she gathered and created after his death.

The Jennings Lumber Co. mss., 1867-1915, consists of the accounts, records, and correspondence of the Jennings family of New Castle, Indiana, with particular reference to their several business and manufacturing firms.

The Willkie Clubs mss., 1940, consists of the presidential campaign records of the Associated Willkie Clubs of America for the U.S. presidential election of 1940.

The Lish mss., 1951-2017, consists of the correspondence, manuscripts, and papers of editor, writer, and teacher Gordon Lish, 1934- .

This collection contains material created and collected by Robert Elisha Burke. Burke became a professor at Indiana University shortly after his graduation from the Pratt Institute in New York. He completed work for his A.B. and M.A. while teaching. In 1921 he became the head of the Fine Arts Department and held that position until 1941. Included are lecture notes, travel notes, some personal information, three bound volumes consisting of lectures, paintings, and other representations of his work, and an album containing photos and postcards of his U.S. travels. The majority of the materials relate to his teaching career at I.U.

Kathleen McKee Butts attended IU Bloomington from 1918-1921, though she did not complete her degree. The bulk of materials included are her writings, which consist of radio scripts, stories, and editorials published in the Plainfield Messenger circa 1934. Personal materials consist mainly of items retained by Butt's father, Dr. Joseph Fennell McKee, and are comprised of correspondence, legal documents, newspaper clippings, and pocket-sized notebooks. Much of the information in these records pertains to Dr. McKee, his wife Irene Sullivan McKee and her father John E. Sullivan, and the subsequent legal proceedings and personal issues involving their divorce and custody of their child Kathleen.

The Russell mss. consist of correspondence, 1889-1933, and writings, 1895-1933, of George William Russell, (A.E.), 1867- 1935, poet, and of Frederic Prokosch, 1908-1989, author.

The O'Brian mss., ca. 1970-1994, consists primarily of notes and full-text manuscripts of author Patrick O'Brian's historical sea novels. Autograph manuscripts for eighteen of the twenty published novels are present.

John Henry Mueller was a Professor of Sociology on the Indiana University campus in Bloomington for thirty years, from 1935-1965, Chairman of the Sociology Department and the Chairman for the Convocations Committee. While classified as a Sociology professor, Professor Mueller's expertise also extended to the arts (particularly music), and into the disciplines of Philosophy, Psychology, Linguistics, and History. This broad scope of interests is reflected in his papers and range from his college days until the time of his death in 1965. The collection is comprised of four series: Biographical and Personal Information, Correspondence, Writings of John Mueller and finally Research notes, Classroom Material, and Committee Files.

The Campbell mss., 1931-1936, consists of the writings of Roy Campbell, 1901-1957, poet, and correspondence with his wife, Mary Margaret (Garman) Campbell, 1898-1979.

Maurice Gilbert Gurin (1911-1990), was nearly 50 years old in 1959 when he made the career change from public relations to fund raising. Gurin incorporated new and innovative fund raising methods with more traditional techniques and in only 12 years rose from free-lancer fund raising to president of a fund raising firm with offices in New York, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles. He continued over the next 30 years to seek creative new answers to old questions, using imaginative new approaches to fund raising focused on individual client needs and making the fund raising plan fit the client rather than the client fit the fund raising plan. The papers consist of correspondence, speeches, published materials, client feasibility studies, and client files.

The Wright B. mss., ca. 1930-2009, consists of the papers of translator Barbara Wright relating to her English translations of French authors.

Consists of the correspondence, writings and memorabilia of poet Sylvia Plath, 1932-1963, and her family.

The Woods mss., 1977-2004, consist of correspondence and manuscripts of German works translated into English by John Edwin Woods.

The Norse mss., 1934-1980, consist of correspondence, writings, photographs, and memorabilia of poet Harold Norse, 1916-2009.

The Meier mss., 1927-2010, consists of the correspondence and papers of education reformer Deborah W. Meier (1931-), who is frequently credited with founding the modern small schools movement in the United States.

This collection consists of the papers of Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda, former Life President of Malawi, and those of his official biographer, Dr. Donald Brody, dating mostly from the 1950s to the 1990s. Additional materials collected by Paula Brody were later added to the collection.
